The original Nuptse products from the 1990s were the first to feature the innovative box construction: it prevents down from bunching up to provide long-lasting warmth for the wearer. The 1996 Retro Nuptse Down Vest is a modern take on an iconic piece. Most of the features are similar, like the boxy silhouette, shiny ripstop fabric, exposed zipper, diagonal pockets, and of course, the large boxes. As for improvements, we’ve given this model 700 fill power responsibly sourced down and a water-repellent finish. The hood folds into its collar, and the entire jacket can be stored in its right pocket.
